Les Hauts de Loye

The house

An authentic place that likes to nurture the soul of deepest France.

With its surprising discoveries and its human encounters.

The manor house and its outbuildings from the air

A farmhouse, a family, a craft.

Between the Sancerre vineyards and the hedgerows of the Pays Fort, above the little village of Morogues, with a view that runs all the way to Bourges cathedral, Les Hauts de Loye is a place apart.

An 18th-century farmhouse that became the family home, its purpose today is to bring people together and to pass things on. Cottages and guest rooms welcome those curious about this little-known Berry, witness to a rich past, and travellers looking for calm and greenery.

The “la Fin des Cornichons” bookbinding workshop has been here since 2010. The concerts began in 2016, with a pianist who arrived by bicycle. Since 2012 the Assemblée de Loye has gathered the region’s craft artists. Nathalie Poupard, art bookbinder, welcomes you into her home and shares her love of her craft and her region.

The soul of the place, told by those who slept here.

You sleep “as if in a château”, you read under the lime tree while the children swim lengths, the dogs adopt you by the pool, and Nathalie tells you which cellar to open in Sancerre. The silence is absolute. Many come back.
